House Republicans meet to select a Speaker
House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA) speaks to reporters following a House Republicans meeting to choose a House Speaker to succeed Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA). Scalise is currently the lead candidate to succeed McCarthy, who was ousted from his position October 3, 2023.
