The Orangutan School In Indonesia
A Sumatran Orangutan is following its instincts, reminding itself of the wild character needed to survive in the forest. The photograph was taken at the 'Orangutan School,' which is the Sumatran Orangutan Conservation Program (SOCP) reintroduction station in Jantho, Aceh Province, Indonesia, on November 14, 2018. The Head of Rehabilitation and Reintroduction of SOCP, who is also a veterinarian, Citrakasih Nente, is explaining the lengthy process of returning Orangutans to the forest after a quarantine period due to conflicts with humans. Before being released back into the wild, the Sumatran Orangutans must attend the Orangutan school. (Photo by Sutanta Aditya/NurPhoto)
