People are walking by the Vasco Da Gama Bridge in Lisbon, Portugal, on March 30, 2024. The Vasco da Gama Bridge, a cable-stayed bridge spanning the Tagus River in the Greater Lisbon area, connects Montijo and Sacavem, close to the Parque das Nacoes, where Expo '98 took place. It was inaugurated on April 4, 1998, and at 17 km long, including 12 km of bridge and 5 km of viaducts, it was the longest bridge in Europe until it was surpassed by the Crimean Bridge in May 2018.
