The Cell Experiment: Visit of a French Prison Cell
Three people pose in a false cell during a happening on carceral surpopulation in France. Normally, this cell is conceived to receive two people but usually receives up to four prisonners. March, 28th 2016. Toulouse. France. Differents NGOs like The Human Rights League, the Genepi (NGO for imnates), etc. put on display a mocked typical French prison cell of 9 square meters. This kind of cell is conceived to held two inmates but often receive up to four. The NGOs organize a festival called "Taul'Art" or "Jail outside Walls" to raise awareness of the harsh conditions of incarceration in French prisons. Passers-by are invited to spend some time in the cell. Inmates must live, sleep, have wash, go to toilets, watch TV, distract themselves in this tiny place. (Photo by Alain Pitton/NurPhoto)
