This kind of cell is conceived to held two inmates but often receive up to four. The NGOs organize a festival called "Taul'Art" or "Jail outside Walls" to raise awareness of the harsh conditions of incarceration in French prisons. Passers-by are invited to spend some time in the cell. Inmates must live, sleep, have wash, go to toilets, watch TV, distract themselves in this tiny place. (Photo by Alain Pitton/NurPhoto)
