Nepal Launches Special Immunization Campaign Against Polio

A vial of 'OPV' is being pictured at an immunization camp as the Government of Nepal is launching a door-to-door immunization campaign in Lalitpur District, Nepal, on July 24, 2024. The Government of Nepal is starting the drive on July 24 after detecting the polio virus in a sample of water taken from the confluence of the Tukucha rivulet and the Bagmati river at Teku, Kathmandu. Health workers and women community health volunteers are administering the 'OPV' to newborns and children below five years. The immunization program is running until July 27. Two hundred and eighty thousand children are being administered the OPV under the special immunization campaign, the government is announcing. (Photo by Subaas Shrestha/NurPhoto)
