Nepal Launches Special Immunization Campaign Against Polio
A Nepali health worker is inquiring with an elderly member of a family to ensure the children below 5 years are being administered with 'OPV' during a door-to-door immunization campaign following the government's special immunization campaign in Lalitpur District of Nepal on July 24, 2024. The Government of Nepal is starting the drive on July 24 after the detection of the polio virus in a sample of water taken from the confluence of the Tukucha rivulet and the Bagmati river at Teku, Kathmandu. Health workers and women community health volunteers are administering the 'OPV' to newborns and children below five years. The immunization program is running until July 27.
