Seoul Launches Trial Runs Of Han River Ferry As Eco-Friendly Transit Option
Participants selected through advance reservations board the Han River Bus at Yeouido Pier in Yeongdeungpo District, Seoul, South Korea, on July 1, 2025, as the city begins trial operations of its first eco-friendly water transit system. The ferry, powered by electric and hybrid diesel-electric engines, connects seven piers--Magok, Mangwon, Yeouido, Oksu, Apgujeong, Ttukseom, and Jamsil--along a 31.5-kilometer route. The vessel accommodates up to 199 passengers and is scheduled to begin full service in September, with trial rides available every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday through August 30.
