Seoul Launches Trial Runs Of Han River Ferry As Eco-Friendly Transit Option
Passengers selected through advance reservations take a trial ride aboard the Han River Bus after departing from Yeouido Pier in Yeongdeungpo District, Seoul, South Korea, on July 1, 2025. The city's first eco-friendly water transit system operates with electric and hybrid diesel-electric vessels, traveling a 31.5-kilometer route that connects seven piers--Magok, Mangwon, Yeouido, Oksu, Apgujeong, Ttukseom, and Jamsil. With a capacity of up to 199 passengers, the service is scheduled for official launch in September, with public trial rides available every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday through August 30.
