Seoul Launches Trial Runs Of Han River Ferry As Eco-Friendly Transit Option
Selected participants take commemorative photos aboard the Han River Bus during its public trial run in Seoul, South Korea, on July 1, 2025. Operated by electric and hybrid diesel-electric vessels, the eco-friendly ferry is Seoul's first water-based public transportation system along the Han River. The route spans 31.5 kilometers, connecting seven piers--Magok, Mangwon, Yeouido, Oksu, Apgujeong, Ttukseom, and Jamsil--with a maximum capacity of 199 passengers. Official service is scheduled to launch in September, with trial rides available every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday through August 30. (Photo by Chris Jung/NurPhoto)
