Seoul Launches Trial Runs Of Han River Ferry As Eco-Friendly Transit Option
Participants selected through advance reservations take commemorative photos on the deck of the Han River Bus during its trial run in Seoul, South Korea, on July 1, 2025. The eco-friendly water bus operates with electric and hybrid diesel-electric vessels and serves as Seoul's first public ferry system along the Han River. The 31.5-kilometer route connects seven piers--Magok, Mangwon, Yeouido, Oksu, Apgujeong, Ttukseom, and Jamsil--with a maximum passenger capacity of 199. Official service is scheduled to begin in September, with trial rides available every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday through August 30. (Photo by Chris Jung/NurPhoto)
