Foreign diplomats visit Kyiv apartment block hit by Russian missile
Ambassador of Japan to Ukraine Masashi Nakagome speaks to the press as a group of over 60 heads of diplomatic missions of foreign states and international organizations accredited in Ukraine visits a nine-storey apartment block in the Darnytskyi district, Kyiv, Ukraine, on May 15, 2026. The residential building was struck by a missile, reportedly a Kh-101, at around 3:00 a.m. local time on May 14. The missile detonated inside the building, causing an entire section to collapse, resulting in the deaths of 24 people, including three children, and injuring 48 others.
