Indigenous Activist Rally Outside Of Army Corps Of Engineers

Gina Peltier, a citizen of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians, raises her fist while the crowd claps outside of the Army Corps of Engineers Building. Indigenous and ally groups from around the United States gathered in front of the Army Corps of Engineers Building in downtown Washington, D.C. on October 12, 2021. The activists delivered petitions with over 2 million signatures to the Corps, calling for the end of the expansion of the Line 3 Pipeline. The pipeline, which runs from Harditsy, Alberta, CA to Superior, WI, has spilled thousands of gallons of oil. (Photo by Zach Brien/NurPhoto)
