Indigenous Activist Rally Outside Of Army Corps Of Engineers

A security guard struggles to strip a flag from activists outside of the Army Corps of Engineers Head Quarters in downtown Washington, D.C. on October 12, 2021. Activists gathered in front of the HQ to deliver petitions with over 2 million signatures that called for the end of the expansion of the Line 3 Pipeline. The pipeline, which runs from Harditsy, Alberta, CA to Superior, WI, has spilled thousands of gallons of oil over the last 20 years. Oil pipelines that crisscross Indigenous land have also poisoned water sources and fields of wild rice. (Photo by Zach Brien/NurPhoto)
