Selkirk Common Riding _ Safe Out - Morning Ceremonials
Selkirk, UK. 17.Jun.2022. The First Drum at 6am, starts the procession round the town on the mornings ceremonies. Selkirk commemorates and celebrates its history at the annual Common Riding, held on the second Friday after the first Monday in June, when the towns boundaries or marches are ridden. Usually in the region of 300-400, Selkirk boasts one of the largest cavalcade of horses and riders in Europe. The climax of the day involves the towns Standard Bearer and Crafts and Associations Standard Bearers casting their colours in Selkirks Ancient Market Place. (Photo by Rob Gray/NurPhoto)
