International Women's Day In Toulouse
Thousands of women and men are taking to the streets of Toulouse on March 8th 2023 for International Women's Day, with a motto focusing on sexism, salary differences, and sex violence. One important theme of the gathering is the planned pensions reform, which will result in women losing money and having to work several more years without taking time off to educate children, as quarters without working will no longer count. Currently, the difference in pensions between women and men is about 30%. Protesters are also denouncing rapes, sex violence, and violence towards women, and trade unions such as CGT, FSU, and Unsa are present at the march. A woman holds a placard reading 'In 10 feminicides it's Easter'.
