International Women's Day In Toulouse

Thousands of women and men are taking to the streets of Toulouse on March 8th 2023 for International Women's Day, with the motto focusing on sexism, salary differences, and sexual violence. One important theme of the gathering is the planned pensions reform, which will result in women losing money and having to work several more years without taking time off to educate children, as quarters without working will no longer count. Currently, the difference in pensions between women and men is about 30%. Protesters are raising awareness about sexism, machismo, and the difference in rights between men and women in our society, as well as denouncing rapes and sexual violence. Trade unions such as CGT, FSU, and Unsa are also present at the march. A young woman is showing her placard depicting French Justice Minister Dupont-Moretti, which reads ''Defender of rapist, Justice chief, who will protect us?''
