International Women's Day In Toulouse
Thousands of women and men are taking to the streets of Toulouse on March 8th 2023 for International Women's Day, holding a cardboard reading 'Half of the population is still waiting for equality'. This year, the motto is about sexism, salary differences and sex violence. One important theme of the gathering is the planned pensions reform, as women will lose money after the reform and must work several years more as quarters without working to educate children will not count as they do now. Today, the difference of pension between women and men is about 30%. They are raising awareness about sexism, machism and the difference of rights between men and women in our society, as well as denouncing rapes, sex violence and violence towards women. Trade unions such as CGT, FSU and Unsa are also present at the march.
