International Women's Day In Toulouse
Thousands of women and men are taking to the streets of Toulouse, France, on March 8th, 2023, for International Women's Day. This year, the motto is about sexism, salary differences, and sexual violence. One important theme of the gathering is the planned pensions reform, as women will lose money after the reform and must work several years more, as quarters without working to educate children will not count as they do now. Today, the difference in pensions between women and men is about 30%. Protesters are raising awareness about sexism, machismo, and the difference in rights between men and women in our society, as well as denouncing rapes and sexual violence towards women. Trade unions such as CGT, FSU, and Unsa are also present at the march.
