An injured snow leopard cub, which is rescued one year ago from Morang, is seen inside its enclosure at the Central Zoo in Jawalakhel, Lalitpur, on November 13, 2025. Snow leopards are typically found at elevations above 2,500 meters, but this one is discovered in the Tarai lowlands at just 150 meters -- a rare occurrence of high-elevation species found in lowland regions. Similar cases are reported in Mongolia and Russia, where snow leopards and Himalayan wolves are recorded around 500 meters.

Forest officials rescued the snow leopard from Urlabari in Koshi, which is situated at an elevation of 146 meters above sea level.

The Lemon Emigrant or Common Emigrant (Catopsilia pomona) is a medium-sized pierid butterfly found in Asia, Cambodia, and parts of Australia. The species gets its name from its habit of migration. The butterflies are strongly migratory in habit and can be seen flying in undulating 'strings' of a dozen or so adults, traveling up and down the rivers which they use as migration corridors linking their high and low-elevation breeding sites. A butterfly is sitting on the West Indian Lantana flower feeding on nectar and has almost camouflaged with the plant due to its green coloration at Tehatta, West Bengal; India on 12/02/2023
