Iran-Caspian Miniature Horse

A Caspian miniature horse is standing in a garden near the city of Karaj, 45km (28 miles) northwest of Tehran, on September 1, 2012. Known also as the Iranian horse or the Persian miniature horse, this small and elegant breed is native to Iran. The horses are known for their refined appearance, spirited nature, and compact size, typically standing at an average height of around 32 to 38 inches. They are primarily found in the northern region and the forests of the Caspian area, including Mazandaran and Gilan provinces. (Photo by Morteza Nikoubazl/NurPhoto)
