Mobile World Congress
The Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom (Model SM-C101) is featured in a retrospective of mobile photography at the Samsung Electronics pavilion during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, on March 5, 2026. Launched in 2013, this hybrid device combines smartphone capabilities with a point-and-shoot camera, powered by a Pallas x86 Dual-Core 1.5 GHz processor and a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED display. It includes a 16-megapixel BSI CMOS sensor and a retractable 10x optical zoom lens (24-240mm equivalent) with an aperture range of f/3.1-6.3. The S4 Zoom incorporates Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and a physical Xenon flash, features uncommon in mobile devices of its time. The display contrasts this early mechanical zoom with the advanced periscope lenses and AI-driven ''Space Zoom'' of the latest Galaxy S26 Ultra, showcasing over a decade of advancements in optical engineering and sensor miniaturization.
