Chile: Ashes Scattered In The Pilmaiquén River
A son of Dina Uribe is holding a photograph and the amphora containing her ashes in Osorno, Chile, on March 24, 2024. The ashes of Mrs. Dina Uribe were scattered in the Pilmaiquen River, where it is believed that the body of her husband, Santiago, was thrown after he was arrested and disappeared during the early days of Augusto Pinochet's military dictatorship. Santiago Domingo Aguilar Duhau, Dina's husband, served as the Governor of the Department of La Union until September 11, 1973, and was a militant of the Communist Party. Dina Uribe became the first president of the Agrupacion de Familiares de Detenidos Desaparecidos de Osorno. (Photo by Fernando Lavoz/NurPhoto)
